Alf is authoritative and takes the initiative. He is cold, lacking empathy for the Saints they create. He lacks confidence in his staff.[1]
Background[]
Alf is in charge of issuing orders to his colleagues to purge the Saints he deems failures. The staff working for him are: Helen, Sam, Quentin, Forrest, and Roger. He and Helen do not seem to get along. He is annoyed that they do not have a trooper stationed with them to ward off false-faiths. He believes his higher ups are preparing for another war with the Linger Straits.[1]

In a last ditch effort to save himself and Helen from Carpenter's attack on the sub-station he decides to open the gates and release the Saints. As he does so he becomes trapped by Carpenter inside one of the test chambers. He is purged by Carpenter in the same way that he has ordered the Saints are purged. |
